Real-ESRGAN
The core of our upscaling engine. Real-ESRGAN (Real Enhanced Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Network) is a state-of-the-art deep learning model developed by researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Unlike traditional upscaling that simply stretches pixels, Real-ESRGAN predicts and generates realistic high-resolution detail based on patterns learned from millions of images.
GFPGAN Face Enhancement
For images containing faces, we apply GFPGAN (Generative Facial Prior GAN) as a second pass. This specialized model is trained specifically on human faces and can recover fine facial details — eyes, skin texture, hair — that would otherwise be lost in low-resolution images. The result is dramatically sharper and more natural-looking portraits.
GPU-Accelerated Processing
AI upscaling is computationally intensive. We run all processing on dedicated NVIDIA GPU hardware through Kaggle's cloud infrastructure. This ensures fast processing times and consistent, high-quality results regardless of your device or internet connection speed.
